Holy moley, it’s been two weeks since I updated. End of classes and the start of finals week has hit me hard.
By the way, I’m writing this post to the Broken Bell’s recently released self-titled album. Check it out. My favorite track thus far is “The Ghost Inside,” which I first listened to in an amazingly shot snowboarding clip.
Alright, let’s go.
I started to document anything new that showed up on the walls of The Tunnel anytime I happened to pass by. I’ve amassed over 200 photos, by no means complete with everything that was ever on those walls, but you can see anything I managed to snap a photo of here.
I want to say that the person who really started the graffiti trend is this guy:
Many have used it wisely indeed. From political messages…
…to displaying scientific prowess…
… and breast cancer awareness messages…
… or just plain art and powerful messages…
Even the stencil artists came out to play! Say hyahhhhhhhhh-
-to the pandanauts!
One of my favorites. Ingenious, really.
Unfortunately, the graffiti started to get out of hand. Which lead to this…
On a happier note, the weather here has been kinda up and down. It’s been mainly gorgeous, with a cold and rainy spell here and there.
Some students are just chilling in hammocks…
Even the archies have come out to play!
The campus maintenance staff have planted some gorgeous flowers around campus. Here’s one in front of public safety.
We’ve also been taking inventory and fixing up things over at SSC. S. mentioned how awesome the Dynastar logos matched up. I couldn’t help but look too.
Food has been… unchanging. I’ve taken the liberty of breaking the monotonous cycle of Blitman food at least once a week.
I headed to the local Bruegger’s Bagels for a sandwich. You can’t beat their peppered bacon and creamy chipotle mayo on their Turkey Chipotle Club.
A midnight chip run to Walmart led me to these awesome alien gummies in cosmic star fruit flavour!
The RSA (previously RHA) Spring Fling was held this past Tuesday, on the last day of classes. In typical college kid style, we went for the free food and a free cup. Honestly, we just wanted the cup.
I don’t care for root beer, so I just dumped it after I ate all the ice cream. The ice cream was surprisingly good though, I wonder if Commons got it from their usual place (Perry’s)?
Snow cones were available too.
It ended up being one huge chunk of ice pretty soon though. 🙁
The girls and I also went out for an impromptu dinner after I got back from SSC. I woke up to us pulling in front of PF Chang’s. I started out with some Dragon Oolong Tea (oolong with hint of mango and peach).
Perhaps I’m just exaggerating, but that cast iron tea pot is really heavy. It was torture after a day of waxing and scraping skis and snowboards. 🙁
I ordered the Singapore Street Noodles, and asked to have the dish extra spicy. It was pretty decent, but I think whoever cooked it forgot to take into account the sodium content whatever hot sauce he used. Pretty good, nonetheless.
I gave in and also got a slice of red velvet cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory. It’s so goooooooood. I’ve been stretching it out over the past couple of days – I will resist eating it all at once!
There’s only a week left here at RPI. My college years are half over! There were some pretty good times this year.
However, I look forward to summer, because there’s always light at the end of the tunnel.
